Outreach and Broader Impacts

I view the broad, bilingual sharing of my research objectives and findings as fundamental to my work, and I engage with diverse audiences to foster public dialogue around my research.

Where appropriate I employ participatory research approaches, and I organize and participate in workshops and other outreach activities for the communities and resource-user groups with whom I work closely.

Examples of the application of my expertise outside academia include serving as a volunteer advisor to the American Alpine Club and Peru’s Huascarán National Park on conservation and tourism management issues and providing conflict analysis to Peru’s National Water Authority.
